Executive Head and Head of School Welcome

Welcome to Widcombe CofE Junior School

We are very proud to be Executive Head and Head of School for Widcombe Church of England Junior School, a thriving, happy, learning community situated in central Bath. We are extremely proud of our school and have a fantastic team of staff and governors who are dedicated to providing a positive learning experience for the all of the pupils who walk through our gates.

We are proud of our Church School status and our children follow our core Christian Values of Friendship, Kindness, Perseverance, Respect, Honesty and Hope to become better in everything they do and to ‘Be the best they can be’. This vision is underpinned by Pentecost (Acts 2:1-31). This story inspires us to fill ourselves with the fire we need to go out into the world and be our best selves.

We design and deliver a creative, engaging curriculum with exciting learning opportunities which build on the children’s interests and stimulate and deepen their understanding.  We have a commitment to developing each child as an individual and intend to prepare our children so that when they leave us, they have a lifelong love of learning and take our School Values into the wider world.

Our school has a wide range of strengths including a strong Arts tradition. We have a real enthusiasm for celebrating individuality and encourage children to showcase their skills and share their interests. We have a firm commitment to providing a high-quality learning experience and while our children achieve academic success, more importantly, they leave us confident, resilient and ready for the challenges ahead of them.

We are committed to working with you, your family and the wider community and recognise that with a balance of commitment, hard work and strong communication we can offer all children a positive learning experience and environment.
