Year 4 Cowslip planting in Lyncombe Hill FieldsBack
Last Thursday, on a spectacularly sunny morning, Year 4 climbed the mountain (that is the 100 steps) up to Lyncombe Hill Fields to plant 250 cowslips. These beautiful yellow flowers should fill the area with their sweet scent next April, May and June.
The children were invited by the Friends of Lyncombe Hill Fields - a very active and welcoming group of volunteers managing the fields for our whole community to enjoy. They were also joined by representatives from Bath in Bloom and BANES Bathscapes project.
There were many comments as to how well the children behaved and how interested and knowledgable they were. We hope this will become the start of an ongoing link between WJS and this beautiful site. If you would like to find out more or get involved: https://friendsoflyncombehillfields.co.uk/
