Children applying to join the school at the beginning of Year 3
The majority of applications are made for children to join the school at the beginning of Year 3.
The parent must complete the Common Application Form (CAF) available from the home local authority (the authority in whose area the child concerned lives). The CAF may be completed and submitted using the home local authority’s ‘on line’ procedure, or as a paper form.
Families living in B&NES should visit the B&NES School Admissions Websitefor details on how to make an application. Applications must be made by midnight on 15 January 2020 to join the school in September 2020.
Local authorities must coordinate new Year 3 applications until 31 August of the relevant year. If an application form is submitted to the home local authority after the January application deadline it will be considered as a ‘late’ application and will not be administered until all on time applications have been processed.
Parents are advised that they should read through the WJS School Admissions Arrangements for the relevant school year (see document links below) before making an application via their local authority.
If, having read the Admission Arrangements, the Parent determines they need to fill in a Supplementary Information Form (downloadable below) this should be delivered directly to the school office.
Children applying to join the school other than at the beginning of year 3
There is a separate, ‘in-year’ application process for applications for places to join the school in years 4 to 6. This process also applies for applications to join the school in year 3 if the application is made outside of the main Year 3 application process.
Parents are advised that they should read through the WJS School Admissions Arrangements for the relevant school year (see document links below).
Parents should apply to the school directly, according to the procedure outlined in the Admissions Arrangements and using the Application form for In-year applications (downloadable below). Applications can be made at any time in the year.
If, having read the Admission Arrangements, the Parent determines they need to fill in a Supplementary Information Form (downloadable below) this should be submitted alongside the application form.
You may submit a paper application to the School Office, or alternatively complete the application form provided on this website and submit it to the School as an email attachment to the following
Please be aware that by submitting an email with the application form attached, you are effectively acknowledging your full acceptance of the terms set out in 'Section 4 - Declaration and Signature' of the application form, just as though you had signed the application form in person. Please remember to insert a date in Section 4 of your application form.
