Despite being a busy term, WJS children are still finding time to look after our planet! Last week Comets made an online pledge to take part in the Big Climate Fightback Campaign organised by the Woodland Trust. They joined thousands of other people across the country who pledged to plant a tree to help fight the global climate emergency.

This week in Forest School they planted their own Wild Cherry in Chestnut Corner, kindly donated by the Fenn family. The children learnt about the importance of tree planting across the globe and have been doing some follow up work in class.

If you’d like to pledge to plant a tree or donate money for the Woodland Trust to plant one go to:

We are aiming to plant 120 trees as a school community by next March, watch this space for more news!
