On Monday afternoon, we were delighted to have been invited to join an event to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Zosia and a group of WJS students planted a very special tree as part of a national initiative to launch The Queen’s Green Canopy, which invites people across the United Kingdom to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’. We were delighted to be joined by HM LordLieutenant of Somerset Annie Maw, along with BANES Council leader, Councillor Kevin Guy and Bath Mayor, at the special ceremony which saw a Pyrus Chanticleer Pear tree planted in our school grounds. All of our visitors remarked on the confidence and curiosity of the children, who were all wonderful ambassadors for our school. To find out more please visit
