Homework
We see homework as a valuable way of establishing a successful learning dialogue between teachers and parents and contributing towards achieving our aims as set out in the School Vision.
Regular practice of basic English and Maths skills through Spelling, Reading and Times Tables has a positive impact on children’s development and achievement. Other work will enhance and consolidate learning that has taken place in class. While we set specific homework activities we also encourage children to take part in a wide range of out-of-school clubs and organisations which contribute greatly to their creativity, growth and development.

Each year group may have an open-ended project during the year offering children the opportunity to extend and challenge themselves.
Parental Involvement
All children have a spelling book, reading record book and homework book. We will provide clear information for parents to understand homework expectations and will have discussed, in class, homework tasks with the children. We ask parents to:
- Sign homework
- Check that homework has been completed
- Communicate with the class teacher (written or verbal) should there be any comments or concerns following a homework task
