BackWidcombe Church of England (C of E) Junior School is an 8 class fully inclusive school, part of the Palladian Academy Trust. High quality education is provided for children of all faiths and no faith.
The admission arrangements are reviewed and published annually by the Governing Body in conjunction with the Palladian Academy Trust. Please select the relevant year entry section for further information on the application process.
Applying for a Year 3 place for September 2024
Before making an application please read the school's
Admission Arrangement for Academic Year 2024-2025
For a child to transfer to Year 3 in September 2024, the parent must complete the Common Application Form (CAF) available from the home local authority (the authority in whose area the child concerned lives). For the application to be considered as ‘on time’ the CAF must be submitted to the home local authority by 23:59 hours on 15 January 2024. The CAF may be completed and submitted using the home local authority’s ‘on line’ procedure, or as a paper form
Families living in B&NES should visit the B&NES School Admissions Website for details on how to make an application. Applications must be made by midnight on 15 January 2024 to join the school in September 2024.
Local authorities must coordinate new Year 3 applications until 31 August of the relevant year. If an application form is submitted to the home local authority after the January application deadline it will be considered as a ‘late’ application and will not be administered until all on time applications have been processed.
In addition to submitting the CAF you may wish to complete a Supplementary Information Form. This form must be completed if you wish to provide supplementary information in order to confirm that a child satisfies Criterion 1, 5, or 7 of the oversubscription criteria applying for Widcombe C of E Junior School. This supplementary form should be delivered directly to the school office.
Applying for In-Year Admission
Please use the school's in-year application form to apply for a place for a child wishing to join the school at any time outside the main Year 3 application process.
Applicants should read the current School Admissions Arrangements before completing the in-year application form.
You may submit a paper application to the School Office, or alternatively, complete the application form provided on this website and submit it to the School as an email attachment to the following

Appeals
The procedure for appealing any admissions decision is outlined in the School Admissions Arrangements for each relevant school year. Parents who wish to appeal a decision must read the relevant sections in this document and then complete an Appeal form.
